Disemb-Arc Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
Scope
This policy covers Disemb-Arc, a Chrome browser extension published by MCD Games, LLC that replaces the new tab page with a view of your Chrome bookmarks bar. It is separate from the policy covering our mobile games, which describes different products and different data practices. Nothing in that policy applies to this extension.
The short version
Disemb-Arc collects nothing. There are no accounts, no tracking, no analytics, and no servers of ours for data to be sent to. Your bookmarks stay in Chrome, where they already were.
Your bookmarks are not stored by this extension
Disemb-Arc does not keep its own copy of your bookmarks. It reads and writes Chrome's bookmarks bar directly through Chrome's own bookmarks API. When you drag a bookmark, rename a folder, or delete a group in Disemb-Arc, you are changing a real Chrome bookmark, in exactly the way you would using Chrome's bookmark manager.
Because there is only ever one copy, uninstalling the extension leaves your bookmarks completely intact.
What is stored, and where
The only data the extension stores is presentation metadata, using Chrome's built-in storage:
- On your device only (
chrome.storage.local): which layout you have selected, which folders are expanded, which group is focused, and a cache mapping Chrome's internal bookmark IDs to colors. This never leaves your device. - In your Chrome profile (
chrome.storage.sync): a small map of bookmark-folder names to color values, so your groups keep their colors on your other computers.
Data placed in chrome.storage.sync is synchronized by Chrome itself through your Google account, the same mechanism Chrome already uses to sync your bookmarks and settings. It contains only folder names and color codes. If Chrome Sync is turned off, this data stays on your device. MCD Games never receives it.
Website icons
To show a familiar icon next to each bookmark, the extension requests favicons from Google's public favicon service (google.com/s2/favicons). This sends the domain name of a bookmark to Google when its icon is fetched. No other information is included, and full URLs, page contents, and browsing activity are never sent.
This is the only network request the extension makes. It is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
What we do not collect
- No personal information of any kind
- No browsing history or page contents
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage measurement inside the extension
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising networks
- No accounts, logins, or email addresses
We do not sell, rent, or transfer any data, because we do not receive any.
Permissions and why they are needed
- bookmarks: displaying and editing your bookmarks bar is the extension's entire function. It reads the bar to draw the page, and creates, edits, moves, and deletes bookmarks in direct response to your actions.
- storage: saves the presentation preferences described above. No bookmark data is stored here.
The extension requests no host permissions and runs no remote code. Everything it executes ships inside the extension package.
The Chrome Web Store listing
Our listing page on the Chrome Web Store is operated by Google, not by us, and Google may measure visits to that page. That is analytics about the store page itself and is entirely separate from the extension: it does not observe anything you do inside Disemb-Arc after installing it.
Children's privacy
Because the extension collects no personal information from anyone, it is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.
Your rights
Privacy laws in various jurisdictions grant rights to access, correct, delete, and port personal data. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete. Your bookmarks and preferences remain entirely under your control, in your own browser.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Because the extension's data practices are minimal by design, changes are expected to be rare.
